NASCAR Suspends 7 After Martinsville Hot Dog Stand Brawl Involving Corey Heim

NASCAR dropped the hammer after a post-race brawl at Martinsville Speedway broke out next to the track's famous hot dog stand. Seven people were penalized, including a team owner who was suspended indefinitely and fined $2,000.

What Started the Fight

The trouble began during the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 on September 26, one of the biggest Late Model Stock Car races of the year. Corey Heim and Treyten Lapcevich were battling for the runner-up spot behind winner Caden Kvapil when they collided on the cool-down lap in Turn 1 — Heim's No. 22 went airborne over the front of Lapcevich's No. 77, destroying both race cars. Heim did not hold back afterward, saying Lapcevich "pinned me onto the curb for some reason and just kept turning left" and "tried to destroy my car under cool-down laps and succeeded."

The Hot Dog Stand Brawl

After post-race interviews, Heim was walking from pit road toward his hauler when several members of Chad Bryant Racing — Lapcevich's team — confronted him next to the iconic Martinsville hot dog stand in the infield. Punches were thrown at the driver; one punch missed and hit the hot dog menu board. Heim dodged most of the blows and never threw one back. Video of the brawl went viral. Afterward, Heim posted a selfie giving a thumbs-up with the caption: "Solid effort, but at least make it count next time."

Watch a full breakdown of the brawl in the video below:

NASCAR's Punishments

On September 29, NASCAR announced penalties for seven people connected to the race weekend:
  • Team owner Chad Bryant: indefinite suspension, $2,000 fine, banned from the 2027 ValleyStar Credit Union 300, one year of probation, and required NASCAR-approved anger management training.
  • Crew member Steven Civitarese: indefinite suspension, $1,000 fine, banned from the 2027 race, and one year of probation.
  • Ryden Lapcevich (Treyten's brother): $500 fine and probation through December 31, 2027.
  • Dylan Jenks and Brad Housewright: $500 fines each and probation through December 31, 2027 — for a separate brawl in the garage area after a heat race.
  • Chase Burrow and Ryan Burrow: $250 fines each and probation through December 31, 2027 — for the same separate garage brawl.

Denny Hamlin Demanded Action

Heim's boss — 23XI Racing co-owner Denny Hamlin, whose team Heim joins full-time in the Cup Series in 2027 — had demanded at least a year-long suspension, calling the attack "complete classlessness" and saying the crew "waited on Corey Heim to leave his car and leave his team and then jump him while he was on the way to his hauler." Lapcevich later condemned the incident on X. Heim, the reigning Truck Series champion who won two Cup Series races in part-time action this summer, walked away from the whole mess with a thumbs-up selfie.

Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 9 Ending Has Fans Panicking Over Mae Green's Fate

The penultimate episode of Ted Lasso's fourth season has only been out for hours, and it's already the most talked-about thing on TV Twitter. Season 4, Episode 9 wraps its main storyline on a high — then lands one of the gutsiest cliffhangers the Apple TV show has ever pulled off.

What Happened at the End of Episode 9

AFC Richmond closes out the day with a memorable win, and the locker room is all smiles about what comes next. But the mood flips when Rebecca Welton gets alarming news about one of the club's most loyal supporters. Rather than break the news to the celebrating squad, she pulls Ted aside instead — and his stricken reaction in the closing moments tells viewers everything without saying a single word.

Here's the kicker: the episode never reveals exactly what happened. Fans are left to sit with the dread until the finale.

Who Is Mae Green?

Mae Green, played by Annette Badland, runs the Crown and Anchor, the pub where Richmond's diehards gather, and she's been in the club's corner since day one — backing both the men's and women's sides. She shares a special bond with the women's team: Mae once dreamed of playing football herself but never got the chance, given the limits placed on women in her era. That history is exactly why this cliffhanger hits so hard.

Did Mae Green Die?

Nobody knows. The show keeps her fate deliberately vague — the episode hints that something serious happened but confirms nothing. Whether Mae survives is the big question the Season 4 finale has to answer.

When Does the Ted Lasso Season 4 Finale Air?

The season runs 10 episodes, and the finale arrives October 7 — one week after Episode 9. Expect the show's emotional storylines to come to a head.

One of the most loved fast-food promotions of all time is making its comeback. McDonald's has announced that its McDonald's Monopoly game returns nationwide on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, and runs through November 1 — and this year's prize lineup includes a $1 million cash prize, a 2027 Jeep Cherokee, free food, and much more. If you missed last year's return after the game's nearly decade-long absence, here is everything you need to know to play and win.

How to Play McDonald's Monopoly in October 2026

This year's game keeps the classic peel but moves all gameplay into the McDonald's app. Getting started is simple:

  1. Register: Download the McDonald's app, opt in to Rewards, and pre-register for the game before you order.
  2. Order and peel: Starting October 6, order eligible menu items and peel the game piece sticker right off your packaging.
  3. Scan: Scan your game piece in the app to cash in instant-win food or loyalty points, collect property pieces, or play the digital Chance Card game.

Bonus tip — you will earn a bonus Chance Card gameplay for each eligible item purchased through the app, or by showing your Rewards code at the kiosk, counter, or drive-thru, as long as you registered before ordering. You must be 18 or older to play, and no purchase is necessary to enter.

Four Ways to Win Under Every Game Piece

Every game piece hides one of four prize opportunities:

  • Instant-Win Food: Free favorites like the McChicken, Snack Wrap, McGriddles, shakes, smoothies, and small fries.
  • Instant-Win Loyalty Points: Between 1,500 and 7,000 MyMcDonald's Rewards points.
  • Collect to Win: Gather property sets to score major prizes, including a Carnival Cruise vacation, a Kennedy Space Center trip, a 2027 Jeep Cherokee, Polaris vehicles, or free McDonald's for a year through a $1,040 gift card.
  • Chance Card: Play the Chance Card game in the app for gift cards from brands like Grubhub, Ulta Beauty, and Uber Eats — plus $50,000 toward a home down payment, $50,000 toward college debt, and cash prizes ranging from $10,000 all the way up to $1 million.

Which Menu Items Have Game Pieces

Game pieces appear on select menu items across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including:

  • Hash Browns
  • McMuffin sandwiches
  • Biscuit sandwiches
  • Large fries
  • Big Mac
  • Quarter Pounder with Cheese
  • 10-piece Chicken McNuggets
  • 4-piece McCrispy Strips
  • Large drinks

McDonald's plans to put out more than 640 million game pieces, and the odds of winning something start at around 1 in 5 — with most wins being instant food or points.

Important Dates to Know

Mark your calendar: game pieces are available October 6 through November 1, 2026, while supplies last. Bonus Chance Card plays run through November 8, and the prize claim deadline is November 22. Because pieces are limited, playing early in the October 2026 run gives you the best shot at the big prizes.

Will you be peeling this year? This giveaway is one of the biggest fast food deals of the fall — good luck, and may your fries come with Boardwalk.

Would you eat Hidden Valley's Spooky Black Ranch? Condiment Color Changes Don't Sell Well, Just Ask Heinz

Photo via Hidden Valley

Hidden Valley just gave ranch dressing a Halloween costume — and it is gloriously weird.

The brand rolled out Spooky Ranch on September 24, its first-ever seasonal release, and the dressing inside is pitch black. Yes, black ranch. It looks like something a witch stirred up in a cauldron, but Hidden Valley swears it tastes exactly like the Original Ranch you already dunk your pizza in.

What is Hidden Valley's Spooky Black Ranch?

No artificial flavors here — the spooky color comes from fruit juice and cocoa. The 12-ounce bottle is gluten-free, runs about $3.97, and is a Walmart exclusive for the Halloween season, available only while supplies last.

Glow-in-the-dark Spooky Ranch bottle

Because of course it does. The limited edition packaging features a jack-o'-lantern, bats, and spiderwebs against a purple night sky, with "Spooky Ranch" written in dripping green letters. It glows in the dark, which is a completely unnecessary feature for salad dressing and therefore the best part.

How to serve black ranch dressing

Hidden Valley pitches it as a dip for wings and veggies, a salad dressing, and a drizzle for pizza — and the brand even cooked up Halloween food recipes to match, including Mummy Ranch Hot Dogs with a Spooky Ranch spiderweb dip, a Pumpkin-Shaped Ranch Cheeseball, and Roasted Ranch Pumpkin Seeds.

"Spooky Ranch takes everything fans love about Original Ranch and adds a little Halloween magic," said Stacy Stokes, Hidden Valley's vice president of marketing.

A cautionary tale: remember green ketchup?

Before you declare black ranch the greatest condiment twist of all time, remember that Heinz ran this exact playbook 25 years ago — with ketchup.

In 2000, Heinz launched EZ Squirt in "Blastin' Green," marketed alongside the movie Shrek. Kids went wild for it. The neon ketchup sold more than 25 million bottles in its first few years and helped Heinz capture a record 60 percent of the U.S. ketchup market. Emboldened, Heinz rolled out Funky Purple, Stellar Blue, and even Mystery Color bottles.

Then the novelty wore off. Kids moved on, parents soured on the artificial dyes behind those vivid colors, and plenty of tasters swore the coloring messed with the flavor. Sales stalled — and by early 2006, Heinz pulled EZ Squirt from shelves for good. (Read the full rise and fall at Chowhound.)

The lesson for Spooky Ranch? Novelty colors might sell fast, but it fades fast too. The twist: Hidden Valley's black color comes from fruit juice and cocoa, with no artificial flavors — a direct answer to the very complaint that helped sink green ketchup. Whether that's enough to escape the same fate is the $3.97 question.

Would you eat Black Ranch Dressing?

Hidden Valley calls Halloween the year's #1 pizza holiday, and honestly, black ranch drizzled over a Halloween pizza is peak spooky season energy. This is the purple-ketchup moment of 2026.

I won't be buying black ranch dressing for myself. That is a personal choice, even if the colors are "naturally sourced."

So — would you eat Hidden Valley's Spooky Black Ranch?

Drop your answer in the comments.

Avengers Doomsday Opening Scene Theory Explained: Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man vs. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine

Credit: Marvel

SPOILER WARNING & DISCLAIMER: This post discusses a fan theory and pure speculation about Avengers: Doomsday based on rumored leaks covered in a YouTube video. This is NOT fact — Marvel has not officially confirmed any of these plot details. If you want to avoid potential spoilers, stop reading now.

Fresh leaks and D23 buzz have Marvel fans talking about what could be the opening scene of Avengers Doomsday — and if the latest YouTube breakdown is right, the Russo brothers are planning one of the boldest openings in Marvel Cinematic Universe history. The theory comes from the movie theories channel Film Royalty, and it paints a picture of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man going head-to-head with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine while the X-Men try to blow up an entire planet. Here is the theory, what it would mean for the movie, and the full transcript of the video below.

The Theory: Spider-Man vs. the X-Men During an Incursion

According to the Film Royalty breakdown, Avengers Doomsday opens with Professor X and the X-Men watching an incursion unfold on another version of Earth — the sky turns red, the planet explodes, and Professor X watches in horror. The theory goes further: the X-Men have figured out a way to stop incursions — detonating a massive bomb on the other world to destroy it and save their own.

The twist? The other world is Tobey Maguire's Earth, where Spider-Man is the only hero left. So Spider-Man is forced to fight the X-Men — including Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, with Deadpool lurking in the background — to save his world from destruction. The fight reportedly ends with Spider-Man and Wolverine falling into the exploding world, making it look like both heroes die in the first ten minutes.

Why This Opening Would Work

The incursion crash course. The video argues this scene exists so casual fans who skipped Phase 4 and Phase 5 can learn how incursions work — by watching one unfold rather than sitting through exposition.

A classic Russo misdirection. Just like Loki's death opened Avengers: Infinity War and set the stakes, seemingly killing two icons in the opening would raise the stakes immediately — and the video's creator does not believe either hero stays dead.

Dr. Doom pulling the strings. The theory speculates Doom may have planted the idea of destroying other worlds with the X-Men — tying into the trailer line "We face an unthinkable decision."

The 2002 cameo, finally paid off. Back when Tobey Maguire's 2002 Spider-Man was being made, Hugh Jackman was reportedly set to cameo as Wolverine before the plan fell apart. This opening would pay off that decades-old what-if.

Full Transcript of the Video

Transcript of Film Royalty's video (auto-generated captions), provided for reference:

[0:06] There's been a ton of info coming out of D23 about Avengers Doomsday, and some of the stuff that's leaked is absolutely wild. We finally got a better look at what's happening in that opening scene, and it sounds like the Russo brothers are pulling out all the stops. They've done this before with Infinity War and Endgame, so they know exactly how to hook an audience from the very first second. So, what we've heard is that we start off with Professor X and the X-Men watching as an incursion unfolds in another version of Earth. The sky turns red, the planet explodes, and Professor X looks genuinely devastated watching it all happen. But we've since learned that it's actually the very opening scene of the movie, and it involves some major players. We're talking Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool, and the rest of the Fox X-Men. And apparently this is all part of a much bigger plan that sets up everything that follows. Now, here's where it gets really interesting. There have been a bunch of leaks suggesting that in this scene, Spider-Man is fighting Hugh Jackman's Wolverine with Deadpool lurking in the background. And the reason he's fighting them is that he's the only hero left on his Earth. So, he's basically forced to fight the X-Men to save his own world from being destroyed by an incursion. That is one of the coolest concepts I've heard in a long time. It's like something straight out of the comics and it creates this perfect emotional conflict that the Russo brothers excel at. But let's back up a bit and talk about how we even know about this. Walker Scobell, yeah, the kid from Percy Jackson, was at D23 for his own thing, and he just started talking about this epic Doomsday scene in detail. He used to be best friends with Ryan Reynolds and he even filmed a movie with Hugh Jackman, so he went on and on about Tobey Maguire fighting the X-Men, and it was hilarious because you could tell he was just sharing stuff from Ryan. And it wouldn't be surprising if Marvel snipers gave him a call after that to tell him to keep quiet. But apparently this scene is set up to give casual fans a crash course in how incursions work because Marvel knows that not everyone watched every single Phase 4 and Phase 5 movie. They're basically banking on the fact that a bunch of people skipped straight from Endgame to Doomsday. So, they need to explain the multiverse rules without being too heavy-handed. The incursion concept was introduced in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness by Reed Richards. But a lot of people probably didn't catch that or don't remember it. So using this X-Men scene to show, not tell, how incursions work and how devastating they can be. Now, the big twist here is that the X-Men have actually figured out a way to stop incursions from destroying their world. They've learned that when two planets are about to collide, detonating a massive bomb on the other world will destroy it and save their own. So, in this opening scene, the X-Men are trying to plant that bomb on Tobey Maguire's Earth to destroy it and save their own. It's pretty brutal. But Spider-Man being the hero he is, isn't about to let that happen. So, he fights them, trying to save his world, and the first person he runs into is Wolverine he's fighting. The rest of the X-Men are also there trying to get the job done. But it sounds like the fight ends with both of them falling into the exploding world, which makes it look like they both die in the opening scene. That's a classic Russo brothers move. By the way, remember how they killed Loki at the beginning of Infinity War? That immediately established the stakes. They're doing something similar here, making us think that two of the biggest comic book icons, Spider-Man and Wolverine, are gone in the first 10 minutes. I don't buy it for a second. These guys are way too valuable, and I'm pretty sure they'll be back for Avengers: Secret Wars. It's a classic fake out, and I'm sure they'll be brought back. Maybe Dr. Doom pulls them into Battle World after he creates it at the end of Doomsday. Or maybe they escape through some kind of portal.

Speaking of Dr. Doom, there's a lot of speculation that he's secretly pulling the strings behind all of this. It sounds like he might have given the X-Men the idea to destroy other worlds in the first place because that's exactly the kind of morally questionable manipulation Doom would engage in. He's always been a master of gaslighting and using people to execute his will. So, it makes perfect sense that he'd be nudging events in a certain direction. And there's that line from the trailers where he says, "We face an unthinkable decision." That's almost certainly about the choice to destroy another Earth to save your own. It's such a Doom thing to say and it sets up the central moral dilemma of the movie. Now, let's talk about why Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man is wearing a motion capture suit in those leaked images instead of his classic cloth suit. The rumor is that he's getting a new, more comic accurate Iron Spider suit, similar to what Tom Holland wore in Infinity War and Endgame, but designed to look even cooler and more faithful to the comics. That would explain why he needs all that motion capture technology. The suit is going to be heavily enhanced with visual effects, and that's a really exciting prospect. Tom Holland actually mentioned recently that he tried on Tobey's and Andrew Garfield's suits for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and he said they felt so much better than his own suit that they inspired the design for his new one. So, there's a lot of thought going into making these suits feel practical and authentic, even when they're enhanced with CGI. The other big reason the Russo brothers want to include this opening scene is to pay off a decades old deep cut. Back when the original Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movie was being made in 2002, there was actually a plan to have Hugh Jackman's Wolverine cameo in it. Fox and Sony worked out a deal and Wolverine was going to appear in his black suit. But on the day of filming, the suit didn't work out, so they scrapped the cameo. And then as both franchises got bigger, the lawyers could never come to an agreement to make it happen. So now, all these years later, the Russo brothers are finally delivering on that long-lost idea. It's such a cool piece of Marvel history coming full circle, and it shows how much thought and care is going into this movie. The opening scene also serves to establish how smart the X-Men are. Professor X and his team have already figured out the mechanics of incursions, and they're acting decisively to save their world. But there's a moral weight to their actions that can't be ignored. Destroying another Earth, even to save your own, is a horrific choice. And that's exactly the kind of dilemma that makes for great drama. In Jonathan Hickman's Time Runs Out comic, the Illuminati faced the same exact decision, and it tore them apart. Some of them were totally on board, while others couldn't stomach it. I wouldn't be surprised if we see similar conflicts within the X-Men in this movie. And let's not forget the potential for some fourth wall breaking humor from Deadpool. In those leaked scenes, he's there in the background. And you know, Ryan Reynolds is going to have a field day with the absurdity of it all. He could easily make a joke about how audiences are getting tired of the same multiverse plots being recycled, which would be a hilarious way to acknowledge the elephant in the room. But even with the humor, the stakes are incredibly high, and the Russo brothers are masters at balancing tone. So, as it stands, the opening of Avengers Doomsday sounds like an absolute roller coaster. We've got Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man fighting Wolverine, the X-Men trying to blow up an entire planet.

The promotion runs for two days only -- September 24 and 25 -- and is valid in the U.S. and Canada. Demand is expected to be heavy, so ordering earlier in the day is a smart move. Happy National Quesadilla Day!

How to Get the Free Chicken Shack

  • Spend $10. Place a qualifying order of at least $10 in food or beverages. The free chicken sandwich does not count toward the $10 minimum.

Fans Have a Mixed Reaction to Ed Sheeran Returning to His Tour

Concert crowd with hands raised under bright stage lights

UPDATE (October 1, 2026)

Ed Sheeran's two Loop Tour concerts at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts — scheduled for Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26, 2026 — were both cancelled because of a powerful nor'easter bearing down on New England. Promoter Messina Touring announced the cancellation on September 25 after consulting with local officials, saying the decision was made with the safety of fans, staff, and everyone involved as the top priority. The storm brought torrential rain, coastal flooding, and wind gusts of 50 to 65 miles per hour, and crews were seen dismantling the concert stage on Friday morning. Ticketmaster confirmed full automatic refunds for both shows.

The same storm also forced the cancellation of three New York festivals that weekend: the Global Citizen Festival on Central Park's Great Lawn (its first cancellation in 14 years; it was set to be headlined by Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean), All Things Go NYC (whose lineup included Zara Larsson, Lola Young, Brandi Carlile, and Carly Rae Jepsen), and the CBGB festival (headlined by Morrissey and Patti Smith).

The Gillette Stadium shows had already been surrounded by controversy: Macklemore was removed as the tour's opening act after his pro-Palestinian remarks at earlier tour dates, with stadium owner Robert Kraft publicly objecting to Macklemore's appearance. Other supporting acts then left the tour in solidarity, and Sheeran said the decision to remove Macklemore was made by promoters and venues, not by him. Fan reaction to the whole saga has been sharply mixed, with some backing Sheeran and others accusing him of bowing to pressure.

Ed Sheeran made his emotional return to the stage Saturday night at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, opening his Loop tour concert with a three-plus-minute speech addressing the biggest controversy of his career — and fans have a mixed reaction to how he handled it.

Ed Sheeran's Emotional Speech on Unity

"I have tried in my career not to be a political commentator of any kind, because I want my music and shows to be about unity, not division, about humanity, not politics, but this is a humanitarian issue and I cannot hide how I feel about it any more," Sheeran told the crowd, his voice shaky as he glanced at the monitor at his feet. The pop star called the Hamas-led attack at the Nova music festival in Israel on October 7, 2023 "horrific," and said he was heartbroken over civilian deaths in Gaza and the West Bank, describing the situation as "catastrophic and unjustified and disproportionate." He closed the speech with an appeal for "love, hope and unity" before launching into "Castle on the Hill" as fireworks lit up the sky.

Why Macklemore Was Removed From the Tour

The night marked Sheeran's return to the stage after the rapper Macklemore was removed from the tour following controversy over his remarks during a performance at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on September 5. In a statement shared to Instagram last Tuesday, Sheeran said he faced pressure from venue owners — including Robert Kraft, the billionaire owner of Gillette Stadium and the New England Patriots — to remove Macklemore from the lineup, but insisted the removal "was the promoter's decision, it was not mine." The statement drew widespread condemnation, with critics accusing Sheeran of caving to corporate interests and putting profit over freedom of expression.

"I Feel Betrayed": Protesters Gather Outside the Stadium

About 100 pro-Palestine protesters gathered near the NRG metro station outside the venue. "I feel betrayed about how he handled this," said Hillary Steinberg, a 34-year-old sociology PhD who had her ticket refunded earlier in the week. She held a sign reading: "If you leave now you will have more spine than Ed Sheeran." Steinberg said she and her boyfriend convinced "at least five" other concertgoers to get refunds. On stage, Sheeran repeatedly invoked the controversy in broad terms without naming Kraft or Macklemore. "I hope you enjoyed the opening acts – I heard they were great," he joked early in the show.

New Backing Band Replaces Beoga After Tour Walkout

One of the night's biggest standing ovations came when Sheeran introduced a new backing band led by fiddler Alicia Enstrom — the replacement for Irish folk band Beoga, which dropped out of the tour in solidarity with Macklemore. They were joined in dropping out by the Danish band Lukas Graham, Irish singer Aaron Rowe, and Finneas. "They said yes to being on stage with the knowledge that the world thought that I was a certain type of person," Sheeran said to rapturous cheers.

Sheeran Drops the B-Stage Over Safety Fears

Sheeran also revealed he removed the retractable bridge and smaller B-stage from the show. "I took the B-stage out because I was afraid what might happen if I stood in the middle, and I will admit that," he said, grinning sheepishly.

Concertgoers Split After the Three-Hour Show

Despite the drama, the stadium appeared mostly full as the concert stretched past the three-hour mark, with fans on their feet dancing. "I didn't come here for politics," said Tim Matkosky, 59. "I came here to get away from politics."

September 20, 2026 Fast Food Deals: KFC Free Wings, McDonald's Free Fries & Wendy's $1.99 Nuggets

McDonald's French fries in the classic red carton

Three of the biggest Fast Food chains are running real Coupons right now, and they're all worth your phone's home screen. Here are the best Deals for September 2026 — including two genuine Free Food offers.

1. KFC: Free 10pc Double Crispy Hot Wings

KFC is giving away a free 10-piece Double Crispy Hot Wings order with any digital order of $15 or more. You'll need a KFC Rewards account and have to order through the app or kfc.com — it's not a coupon code, it's an automatic reward on a qualifying digital order.

KFC is stacking other cheap eats on top of it: 4 bakery-style chocolate chunk cookies for $3.49, a $5 3-piece Tenders Combo with a $10+ purchase, and 25% off a 12-piece chicken meal. These are all listed under "limited time only" on the official deals page, with no stated end date, so grab them while they're live. Verified at kfc.com/menu#deals.

2. McDonald's: Free Medium Fries Every Week (Ends Oct 4)

McDonald's is running a free medium Fries offer in the app — once per week with a $1 minimum purchase. The important part: this one expires October 4, 2026, so the clock is ticking.

Also live in the app right now: a limited-time $8 Big Mac Meal, a $5 Sausage McMuffin with Egg Meal, a $2 weekly breakfast sandwich deal, free 10-piece McNuggets with your first $1+ app purchase, and the $4 McValue Meal Deal. All claimed inside the McDonald's app. Verified at mcdonalds.com.

3. Wendy's: $1.99 10pc Nuggs + Free Saturday Delivery

Wendy's has a daily digital offer for 10-piece nuggets at $1.99 with any purchase, available through the Wendy's app or wendys.com. There's also a seasonal hook: $0 delivery fee all day Saturday during college football season, plus $3 off delivery orders.

These are listed as limited time on wendys.com. If you're ordering delivery on Saturdays this fall, the free-delivery Saturdays alone are worth a post of their own. Verified at wendys.com.

How to claim these deals

All three offers are app or digital-order exclusive — there are no printable coupon codes to clip. Download each chain's official app, create a free account, and the offers appear in the deals or rewards section. That's the whole trick: the best fast food coupons in 2026 live in the apps, not in the Sunday paper.

These App Deals are the best Freebies in Restaurant Deals this week — all three require the chain's app, so download them before you order.

Deals verified live on September 20, 2026. Offers are "limited time" unless an expiry is stated — check the official app before ordering, since chains can pull promos without notice.

Which chain has the best deal right now — KFC's free wings, McDonald's free fries, or Wendy's cheap nuggets?

Let me know in the comments.

Why Did Reid Scott Leave Law & Order? Detective Vincent Riley's Exit Explained

Law & Order is losing another detective. In July 2026, Deadline reported that Reid Scott — who has played Senior Detective Vincent Riley on NBC's long-running procedural for the past three seasons — is departing the series. Season 26 premieres Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 10pm ET on NBC, and it will mark the beginning of the end for Detective Riley.

Reid Scott as Detective Vincent Riley on Law & Order

Photo: Dominick D, via Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 2.0

How Reid Scott Joined Law & Order

Reid Scott joined Law & Order in its 23rd season, stepping in after Jeffrey Donovan exited the role of Detective Frank Cosgrove in late 2023 over creative differences. As Vincent Riley, a tough, no-nonsense senior detective paired with Detective Jalen Shaw, Scott quickly became a fan-favorite presence in the squad room. Now, after just three seasons, his time on the show is coming to a close.

Why Is Reid Scott Leaving Law & Order?

According to reports, the exit was Scott's own decision — even though he was believed to have one more year left on his contract. The reason comes down to a brutal cross-country commute: Scott lives in Los Angeles with his family, while Law & Order films in New York City. Playing Riley meant spending roughly nine months of every year away from home, and the actor decided it was time to stop. By all accounts, he left the show on good terms.

What Happens to Detective Vincent Riley?

Good news for fans: Scott isn't disappearing overnight. He's filming a few final episodes to properly wrap up Detective Riley's storyline before his replacement debuts, so the writers have a chance to give the character a real sendoff. The exact number of episodes and the details of Riley's final arc haven't been revealed yet.

Who Replaces Reid Scott on Law & Order?

Stepping into the 27th Precinct is James Badge Dale, who joins Law & Order in Season 26 as the new Senior Detective replacing Riley. Dale is a familiar face to TV and film fans — he's best known for roles in 24, The Departed, and Iron Man 3. In a fun bit of trivia, Dale previously appeared on Law & Order: SVU back in 2002, so this is something of a homecoming.

Law & Order Is No Stranger to Cast Turnover

Riley's exit is just the latest shake-up for television's longest-running primetime drama. Mehcad Brooks (Detective Jalen Shaw) also departed the series in July 2025. As Law & Order heads into its 26th season, the revolving door of the 27th Precinct keeps spinning — and the show's formula somehow keeps working.

So what do you hope happens to Detective Vincent Riley in his final episodes? A heroic sendoff? A quiet transfer? A shocking twist?

Why Arby's is Better than its Competitors

Arby's is known in its commercials for the deep-voiced tagline, "We have the meats!" and it does have the meats.

One of Arby's greatest strengths is its diverse menu, that often includes brisket, corned beef Reubens, and deli-style turkey and ham sandwiches. They often provide better cuts of meat than their competitors, but that doesn't mean you won't get some sandwiches that have fat in them. Not every sandwich is perfect.

Arby's Steak Nuggets Are Back and "Keeping It 100"

Arby's is celebrating the return of Steak Nuggets in a big way. The limited-time item is back slow cooked and juicier than ever, made with 100% steak and packed with protein.

Reality TV star, model and influencer Caleb McDaniel teamed up with Arby's to introduce the "grown-up nugget," appearing in a date-night style campaign featuring the new Horsey Ranch sauce. "Steak Nuggets are made with 100% steak, packed with protein and even better dipped in Horsey Ranch. That's what I call keeping it 100," McDaniel said.

Arby's also gave away 100,000 free 5-count orders of Steak Nuggets to Loaded Rewards members with a $10 minimum purchase from September 15-18, while supplies lasted. The nuggets even made their way to college football through a University of Akron partnership and to pro football's opening weekend, where television host and former NFL player Nate Burleson brought them to the CBS Sports desk for some early-game tailgating.

You can read more about the celebration in "The Arby's Steak Nuggets Are Keeping It 100".

Why the Cheeseburger Beats Every Other Fast Food Item

The cheeseburger holds an 84% popularity ranking among Americans, according to YouGov, tied with hamburgers and just behind grilled cheese sandwiches and French fries. Research firm Circana reports that Americans ate roughly 6.9 billion cheeseburgers from restaurants in the 12 months ending July 2026. The hamburger rose to prominence at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, and the cheeseburger followed, with origin claims from Pasadena, California (1924) and Louisville, Kentucky (1934).

A Post Circulating on Social Media About Dipping Cheeseburgers in Coke

As cheeseburger lovers gear up for National Cheeseburger Day, social media is buzzing with an unusual trend: people dipping McDonald's cheeseburgers into Coca-Cola. The combination has sparked a heated debate online, with some calling it a stroke of genius and others calling it just plain gross.

If you tried dipping your cheeseburger in Coke, would you be team genius or team gross?
